Can the upper box on a frameless cabinet be built the same height as the door? i.e. without the the typical overhang where recessed lighting would be? I would like to have the door and box flush and possibly add some trim afterwards or none at all.

    thank you.

    Hi Brent,

I am not sure I understand you question correctly. However, my guess is that you want to set the parameter in the attached image to 0″.

What I mean is when I have the upper to 38″ I would like the cabinet box to be 38″, not 36 7/8″ as shown in this screen grab. I understand the Top Clearance setting. Basically the cabinets and doors and end panels to be the same height.

I understand what the top clearance setting (3/32″) is doing to the door panel. But this is the look I am trying to achieve – I did it by setting the bottom clearance to 1 1/8″. If I want a 38″ cabinet it looks like the only way is to set the cabinet height to 39 1/8″ and make the bottom clearance 1 1/8″.

    Hi Brent,

On the Upper Cabinets tab in the lower left, you’ll set the Bottom Inset parameter to zero. Notice it’s set to 1 1/8″ in the attached screenshot which is why you’re seeing the different in size.

    Thanks,
    Greg
