Is there a way to have cabwriter show in cutlist when parts are oversized, i know it will just add it to the overall size of the componet but i am wanting it to display on the cutlist the oversize dimensions and the finish dimensions’

    Hi Jeremy,

The CabWriter cut list and CutList Bridge already do all that. The Thick, Width and Length columns show the oversize dimensions. The Fin T, Fin W and Fin L show the finished dimensions. The Info column’s display can be one of three selections. The usual on is just the letters L, W and T indicating that the part has been oversized in the Length, Width or Thickness dimension respectively. The second choice places a negative or positive number in parenthesis after the letters indicating how much a part has been oversized or undersized. Lastly the third choice is to have the number in parenthesis after a letter show the oversized/undersized dimension.

If you have further questions write me at [email protected].

would there be a reason mine does not display it that way?

You have to go to the CutList Bridge Setup tab and set it up that way. Have you done that?

So I even looked in cutlist and I can see on some of the tabs it shows finish size and rough but the info is not being populated from cabwriter

    Hi Jeremy,

If I’m reading this right, you are saying that the oversizing columns are there in the cutlist, but are not being populated, correct? If so, then you need to check the Cutlist Tab in CabWriter where you can indicate how much oversizing you want for different parts, then CabWriter will automatically add the oversizing to those parts and it’ll show up in the cutlist. Also, if you open the Extended Entity Info window and choose any part, you can see what the oversizing is for it and manually change it if you want.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Hi Jeremy,

Could you give us a link to your cut list ao that we can see what you are seeing?

Yes and no. What happens is if I oversize a part it doesn’t show the two different sizes just the one with the oversized and it will say the same thing in the finished size as well. This happens either when I make a part oversized in the extended entity or have the settings in the cutlist on construction side of cabwriter. It only displays the size with the oversized. It’s been this way since I have had cabwriter and I have always just keep a mental note of what things are supposed to be. But I am going to be changing how blank out my sheet stock and need it to be oversized and I need it to be displayed to keep the math easier.

    Hi Jeremy,

As Joe mentioned, it might be helpful if you can send us a simple model and a copy of your cutlist where you’re having problems. At this point, we don’t know how to troubleshoot the problem because we can’t see your specific situation and we haven’t run into this one before.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Ok Greg.
I went thru the settings and made changes and looked at the extended entity info as I made them to see what was being oversized. I found some errors on my part and some to say I did not think the are to be changing was the correct field. Like right now I have most of everything working correctly. Here is one thing I am still having problems with. I make my faceframe styles 2 inch wide. I would like them cut oversize by a 1/8 for room to joint and bring into there final width. I can add the 1/8 for the length of rails in the bead allowance settings but I don’t see a place to add the width other than going in the extended entity info and making the change there. Is that my only option?

I also see on my oversizing on drawer front and door panels it only is doing it on the door panels ?

    Hi Jeremy,

Sorry for the late reply; I’m traveling. I don’t believe there is a way to oversize the face frame parts in terms of width; Joe can confirm that. I do that as well and run them through my planer on edge, but I just remember to mill them oversize when am processing them. Sorry we don’t have a better solution for that.

As for your last point, are you saying that the stiles and rails for your doors are being oversized, but not on drawer fronts?

    Thanks,
    Greg

ok i will work with that on my end.
but to answer yes all the doors parts come out oversized but my drawer fronts do not, i no in my head to make them oversized but i would like to see it on the cutlist if possible.

i also just noticed and it just may be that way. if i have say a side of a cabinet oversized it will only show the oversized dimensions on the layout and the finished size will be on the parts list with a finished size. i have in the past never printed the parts list out so maybe that is also why i was not seeing the oversized dimensions.
