    Joe, Greg
i am still playing with the newest version here and i am looking at the built in cutlist and my question i have is, does the program not recognize solid wood drawer and panels for the doors and if it does how does it figure out how many pieces are needed to make up the width needed for a door panel or a wider drawer front. in cutlistfx i can convert the panel into strips to make up the width. Still playing with it as i do like how it tells me the total length needed for each width

    Hi Jeremy,

The cut list only reports the overall width and length of a component. The user needs to distinguish a part that is too wide for a rip cut and then make it a glue up. CabWriter can’t decide for you how many strips you want to use and whether all strips are the same width. The user has to do that. Most woodworkers want to hand select the pieces that go into a glue up to be sure the grains match and there are no defects. CabWriter’s cut list make no attempt to do this.
