    Hi,
Whenever I move a cabinet in sketchup it looks like the old one is still visible in layout after updating the model reference. Is there something I can do to fix this?

    Hi Matthew,

This is actually a fairly easy thing to fix, just hard to describe in words. I was looking to see if we already had a video on this, and we do have one from back in the CabWriter 2 days. I put the link to it down below. It’s worth looking at the video to understand what’s going on, and that method still works, but now there’s an easier way. Instead of deleting the Z layer and the scene, you simply click on the scene you want to change, show the section plane and select it like in the video, but then when you do Create Section from Section plane again, you’ll see a different dialog box as shown in the attachment below. If you check the Use Selected Scene Name? as shown, it’ll fill in the selected scenes name and do all the work behind the scenes to update the Z layer mask and update the scene. Then, you’ll just update your model as normal in LayOut. I’ve added this to the list of videos to update moving forward. Let me know if you can’t get it to work and I’ll try and get a video to you sooner.

    Thanks,
    Greg
