SpectatorI’m working on a project for some wheeled carts. I’m building some fixed height carts, and some adjustable table height carts.
I’m building them in 3 heights to accommodate tool platforms between 2-5″, 5-8″, and 11-15″
I want to be able to adjust the tool platform heights to a final height of 35 1/4″ which is the height of the fixed height carts.I want to use a ladder base to mount the casters.
I have an adjustable platform on top that has a minimum height of 1 7/16″ above the cabinet box top, with 4 inches of adjustment from the minimum..I’ve done all my calculations in a spreadsheet for deducting and adjust the different adjustments to the cabinet box height, so I have the figures I need for box heights.
But then after doing the spreadsheet I got to wondering if CabWriter might be able to automate some of those deductions and adjustments.
If I go from the bottom with the values for the 2-5″ platform range cabinet, I tried to use the following parameters
* Carcass.ToeKick.Toe Kick Height2″
* Carcass.ToeKick.Ladder Base Gap = 3 7/8″
* BaseCabinets.BaseGeneral.Counter Top Height = 35 1/4
* BaseCabinets.BaseGeneral.Counter Top Thickness = 6 7/16″ (1 7/16 + 5″ max tool height)My hope was that Cabwriter would determine the box height for me based on my desired end counter top height
But what happened is that the ladder base ended up inside the cabinet box
🙂
Obviously i’m kind of far afield of your use cases, but I’m wondering if maybe I just missed something simple that would make this work.February 12, 2024 at 3:24 pm #9004111223064978chiefwoodworker
