    Hello,

    I have purchased cab writer. I had sketchup 2021, but was prompted to update to sketchup 2022, which I did. I tried to download CabWriter 6 to install, but it said my license key was not valid. I then downloaded to cab writer 5 thinking maybe I needed to go through each version to get a current license key. However, it is not showing a license key beside the one beside the cab writer 4 version. I tried that one in sketchup and it is still saying it is not valid. How do i go about getting the most current versions installed and have the correct license key?

    Hi Gary,

    The problem is your license key for CabWriter 5 doesn’t work with version 6. You just need to go through the upgrade process to get a new set of version 6 license keys. This is free assuming you’re up to date on your support membership. You can do the upgrade here:

    Just click on Upgrade to CabWriter 6 in the upper right corner.

    Thank you for your quick reply. I click on the upgrade to cabwriter 6 and it takes me to the next page to update, on which it mentions things on the right hand side of the page. However, the right hand side of my page is blank. This is where I think I am getting hung up. I assume I am overlooking some step in this process?

    Hi Gary,

    So sorry I missed your reply. The reason you weren’t seeing the options is that you never upgraded to CabWriter 5 and I was only looking to see whether people had valid CabWriter 5 licenses, but your last license key was for version 4. I added detection for version 4 onto the page, so it should work now. Can you give it another try and let me know how you fare?

    Hi Greg,

    I accidentally allowed my support subscription to run out. I have upgraded to version 6 and renewed my membership but am not seeing a new license key to allow me to activate version 6. I’ve checked my email and logged into my account on the website but I only see the license keys for version 5. Do I just need to give it time to update and add the new license keys?

    And follow the instructions to purchase your free CabWriter 6 license keys. Let me know if you have any issues when you do that.
