    Thanks Joe,

I have been just building them with standard Sketchup tools. I figured it wasn’t available yet, but thought it worth asking in case I was missing something. I really like the way that you combine the top and bottom rails, I will use that technique next time.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Greg and Joe,

Yes that would work, having that ability in the right click menu would be just as useful, I never thought about that.

I would be interested to hear others thoughts on the usefulness of this. It seems handy to me, but I don’t want to have you guys searching for a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist.

Since we are kind of brainstorming anyway, what about having along with an “lock/unlock cabinet” function in the right click menu, there was also a “lock/unlock subassemblies” function? So if you right click on the top FF stile of a cabinet you would have the option of “lock/unlock cabinet” or “lock/unlock subassembly”. Choosing “lock/unlock subassembly” the cabinets entire FF would be unlocked or locked?

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Greg and Joe,

I was thinking of having the ability to select a cabinet component and then a button that would lock/unlock the entire cabinet. It is a minor annoyance to lock and unlock cabinets but I can definitely see the benefit of not deleting or moving things unintentionally. I was adjusting divided cabinets to give some clients options to see and it seemed like I was locking and unlocking cabinets a lot, which is why I thought I would bring it to your attention. Have you guys considered implementing a customizable toolbar similar to Sketchup’s? I always find it interesting to see how people arrange their toolbar. Like I said before, it was just a thought, and definitely not a deal breaker.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Thanks Joe,

That makes sense, I was just a little confused, but I understand where the math is coming from now.

    Thanks, Matt

    Joe,

I’m sorry, I jumped the gun a little. I am still in the process of watching the video series. So I understand that the “base drawer front heights” parameter is referring to the drawer front as it states and not the opening as I incorrectly assumed. I adjusted the measurements so that the go/no go light on the right turned green and zeroed out, but am still a little confused because the drawer fronts are still not the measurement that I entered? I’m doing something wrong, just not sure what. I have it adjusted to 1/2″ overlay…

    Thanks, Matt

    Thanks Joe,

Yes that did it! I’m still learning the program and trying to figure out all the ends and outs.

I have a question regarding the “base drawer front heights” parameter. I assume that this is the drawer opening height because it is located in the FF tab? I adjusted the measurements as you can see in the attached screen shot below, but when I edited the cabinet to reflect the new measurements they were not the same as what I had entered, as you can see in the attached image below. I have a 30 3/4″ stile. (Assuming my math is correct) a 1 1/2″ top rail and bottom rail, two 1 1/2″ mid rails, a bottom opening of 11 1/2″, a mid opening of 8 1/4″, and a top opening of 5″ should equal 30 3/4″? I am not sure why CabWriter is adjusting my measurements?

    Thanks, Matt
