SpectatorHi Wayne,
Have you modeled something that you are hovering over? Do you have a tool besides the Select tool chosen when you hover with its cursor? If the answer is yes to both questions and you are still not getting the inference engine dot and tool tip like shown in the image below, send me your model’s .skp file and I will see if there is a problem.

Yes, you have complete control over the holes and the toe kick. There are hundreds of default values you can change. However, at the moment it requires editing a file. We are working on a dialog box human interface to make changing these things easy. Hope this helps.Joe….

SpectatorHi Wayne,
I am not sure what you mean by the ‘snap to nodes’. Are you using CabWriter or the basic SketchUp program when you are having this problem? Are you drawing a wall or using the Story Stick? And if you get any error messages can you tell me what they are? Thanks,
Joe….

SpectatorWelcome aboard Wayne.
Let me know if you have any problems installing or using CabWriter. If you have any feedback on the training videos I would appreciate that too. Also, I would encourage you to make your comments on this CabWriter website. Greg and I are always monitoring it and one or both of us will respond asap. It also benefits the other participants to have access to the conversation. Thanks for trying CabWriter. I think you will find it very beneficial.

SpectatorHi Doug,
There are a number of things we need to add to CabWriter before we release a Beta version. Chief among them is three types of drawers: frame less, overlay and inset. And for each we are going to supply representative samples which might include arched and bead board. I don’t know if we will get into providing a wide range of door styles, but we will cover all the door types. Also on the beta list are:
1. User interface for changing defaults. Right now you need to edit a text file.
2. Support for dadoes, stopped or blind dadoes and rabbets.
3. Construction technique options such as integrated toe kick.I would like to hear from you and others what you think is most important and why, and how you might suggest we implement other features. Thanks for the feedback,
Joe….

SpectatorHi Kevin,
Yes, I think you are missing something that will be explained in Segment 5 of the training video. You have to do things in a specific order. The most important of which is renumber and then create a cut list before exporting a DXF. But why don’t you send me your .skp file and let me go through the process just to be sure there isn’t something else wrong.
