SpectatorHi Jack,
I’m really sorry about that, but unfortunately, it’s two different systems for purchasing the software and renewing the support. So, unfortunately, you’ll have to do it as two payments. I apologize for the inconvenience…

SpectatorHi There,
Unfortunately, there are no plans in the short term to add a shaper allowance for the ends of the rails, but we’ll add it to the list for consideration. In the meantime, I’ll let you know how I do it.
I understand the reason for extra material; it’s to insure that the cutter takes a full depth cut and leaving extra material insures that. Leaving extra on the rails was always harder for me because if you leave, say and extra 1/16″, you have to set it up to take exactly an extra 1/16″ off the end to ensure the rail ends up the right length. Instead, I used a trick to line the fence up exactly such that the cutter takes a full depth cut, but doesn’t change the length of the rail. Take a look at this video starting around 3:30 to see how I did it. This is one of my training videos for when I ran a cabinetmaking school. Let me know if you have any other questions about the process.
Thanks,

SpectatorHi There,
Unfortunately, for some reason, no text is showing up in your help request, so I had sent an email to you separately asking if you could put your request in an email so I could see what the issue is. Sorry about that; you must not have gotten it. Could you send the request to [email protected]? Sorry about the inconvenience…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi There,
Can you email me at [email protected] with your name, email, license key, and what version of CabWriter you are using? With that information, we should be able to get you going…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Michael,
Unfortunately, we don’t have that capability at this time, but I’ll add it to the potential features for CabWriter 9. For the time being, you can use the native SketchUp texturing tool to apply the texture of your choice to the front edges. Not ideal, but maybe we can help in future releases…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Jack,
No problem; let us know if you need anything after you get SketchUp straightened out…
Thanks,

SpectatorHi Jack,
The Closet support rolls under your CabWriter Pro subscription and when we come out with new major versions of CabWriter, it includes all of the modules such as closet, so as long as you keep your Pro subscription up to date, you’ll get all the Closet updates as well, so you should be good to go. When you renew your Pro subscription, it’ll come with Closet support.
Thanks,

SpectatorHi Jack,
Also, if you are up to date with your support contract, you can go to this link on the website, while you’re logged in:
And get a free upgrade to CabWriter 8 which will give you a license key that you can use to activate the software and not have to deal with the free trial. Just follow the instructions on that page.
Thanks,

SpectatorHi Jack,
Can you describe what is happening with the upgrade and license key? I might be able to fix it for you without a zoom…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi there,
I just saw that a bit ago and was wondering what was going on. 🙂 I am traveling this week but will definitely refund you in the next day or two… Hopefully, you got the email about activating the CabWriter 8 free trial since our software activation is broken at the moment and we’re trying to track down the problem…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Lynn,
Sorry about that. Can you email me separately at [email protected] with the email associated with your account? I can then look and see which computers are associated with your license. Let me know if you would like me to deactivate all the computers associated with your account. You must have two activations previously which is preventing you from activating the new one.
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Jeremy,
Looks like you haven’t went through the upgrade process to get a version 7 license key; you just need to go to the following page of our website and follow the instructions to obtain a free version 7 key.
Let me know if you have any other issues…
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Jack,
As far as I know, it’s working OK. When you get the initial PayPal screen, there are two buttons. One says Next and the other says Pay with Credit Card as shown in the attached screenshot. Which button are you hitting? You should use the Pay with Credit Card path, otherwise, it’ll want you to create and account and so on. If you just pay by CC, you won’t have to go through any of that. Let me know if this is not the issue…
Thanks,

SpectatorHi Anthony,
As I mentioned above, we basically do already support it, we just don’t draw the nailers. You can choose to inset a 1/4″ back into rabbets on the carcass sides and top/bottom as far back as you want to accommodate the nailers. I wouldn’t think the nailers would need to be drawn to show customers, but only for construction, right? I also assume you just cut up what you need for nailers when you’re putting together the cabinet, so it wouldn’t be that critical to have CabWriter draw them in? Given our price point, we simply can’t add everything for every construction method out there, so we’ve had to make calculated choices. That said, you can easily use SketchUp tools to draw in the nailers if you need them for your assemblers to see; that’s one of the reasons we built on top of SketchUp because we aren’t able to draw everything automatically, so it gives users the flexibility to use SketchUp Tools to add anything else you might need to the drawing.
In what way do you want to modify the toe kick construction? Do you have an example you can show us?
Thanks,
Gregcabwriter
SpectatorHi Jeremy,
Glad it worked out; let us know if you need anything else…
Thanks,
